Ao Nang is a pretty small resort town in the southern side of Thailand‘s Krabi Province and has two main beaches, Nopporat Thara Beach and Ao Nang Beach. It’s known for a long Andaman coast beachfront and access to snorkeling and dive sites off the nearby islands, also a center for long-tail boat tours to the beaches of limestone islands such as Koh Poda (Poda Island) and Koh Gai (Chicken Island). Other boats make trips to Railay Beach, a well-known destination for rock climbers. For such a popular destination, Ao Nang beach itself leaves a lot to be desired. The rough tan sand practically disappears at high tide, only leaving the unspoiled scenery around it. Backed by soaring limestone cliffs and just meters away from the gorgeous Andaman Sea, Ao Nang is 40 minutes by speedboat from famous Phi Phi islands, and over an hour away by sea from Phuket.
