Koh Lipe snorkeling tours

Koh Lipe is surrounded by over 30 islands and hundreds of reefs all within easy reach. Tarutao National Marine Park, where it belongs, is a remarkable destination for private snorkeling tours and yacht holidays. With so much to see and dive, you will need at least three days of snorkeling tours from Koh Lipe to make the most of it. They say 25% of all exotic fish species in the Andaman Sea can be encountered around Koh Lipe island. And the best snorkeling tours to prove it will take you to Koh Rawi, Koh Tarutao, and colorful reefs around Koh Adang and Hin Ngam.

Best snorkeling in Koh Lipe

Koh Lipe features three main beaches that give the life and vibrant energy to the island – Sunset Beach, Sunrise Beach, and Pattaya beach. There is terrific snorkeling from every Koh Lipe beach in general because a colorful reef surrounds the majority of the island.

Sunrise Beach
Sunrise Beach on Koh Lipe might be a great place to see the rising of the sun, but it sees crowds for more than just that. Being one of the best Koh Lipe snorkeling locations, it is a place to be for a series of early morning fun activities. At low tides, it is even possible to walk to Koh Kra and Koh Usen that are just off the coast from Sunrise beach, and snorkeling there is also terrific. Overall, shallow waters with high visibility around Sunrise beach are why many call it the best snorkeling beach in Koh Lipe for beginners.

Pattaya Beach
Pattaya beach is the busiest on Koh Lipe, with many colorful long-tail boats at any time. Snorkeling at Pattaya beach is pleasant, but you have to go to the beach’s rocky ends. As you go further in the direction of neighboring islands, the water becomes deeper; and you can encounter a variety of spectacular marine life.

Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach spreads along Koh Lipe’s quiet western shore, promising not only breathtaking sunsets but also fantastic snorkeling off the beach. After seeing all the eye-candy on Sunset Beach, you can snorkel from several hidden beaches on the remote western part of Koh Lipe island. You don’t have to take our word for it. Seeing, they say, is believing. Thus, the next time you find yourself on Koh Lipe, make sure your snorkeling gear is ready!

Best diving near Koh Lipe

If you’re passionate about diving, then Koh Lipe is an island to be. Waters around the main Koh Lipe diving spots reach up to 30m of depth with the highest visibility. You can encounter various turtle species, sperm whales, dolphins, manta rays, and even whale sharks in deeper waters. The best dive sites are around Koh Tarutao, Koh Adang, Koh Tong, and Koh Lek.

The most popular diving spots in Koh Lipe are by far 8 Mile Rock and Yong Hua Shipwreck. Koh Lipe diving during March-April guarantees a diverse marine life, regular encounters with whale sharks, and an astonishing amount of colorful reef species at all dive sites. And after a good day of diving, while cruising back to Koh Lipe, the natural beauty of Tarutao National Park will tick the remaining eye-candies any day.
