Koh Lanta best beaches

Koh Lanta promises world-class sandy beaches, greenish-blue shallow waters, and vibrant coral reefs within easy reach on neighboring islands. And it is pretty impressive that this relatively small island holds its own well when it comes to some picks of beaches to make the area pop. Whether you are having your main holiday on Koh Lanta or just coming around for a day trip, we have discussed the Koh Lanta best beaches you don’t want to miss below.

Phra Ae beach

The most popular among Koh Lanta beaches, Phrae Ae, has come to be affectionately known as Long Beach in the area. Even though there is no dedicated party beach on Koh Lanta, it would be easy for Phrae Ae to pass for one. The waters here are calm enough to make the beach great for those who just want to wet their feet on the sand. The waters are also usually mild, making it an excellent beach for people who love to swim. Beyond that, you can take advantage of any of the bars/ restaurants around the beach when you finish playing near the waters.

Klong Jark beach

For all that this beach offers, it is surprising that it has not been discovered by a lot of tourists yet. That makes it all the better for you, though, seeing as you can now get all the fun to yourself. What fun, you ask? Well, Klong Jark is among the best of Koh Lanta beaches, not only to escape but snorkel too. If you don’t want to get that deep, it is also a fantastic location for swimmers. Once you are done at the beach, a small hike will take you to explore the Klong Jark waterfall.

Relax beach

As the name implies, this is a beach on Koh Lanta where you can go to relax and have a day/ an evening all to yourself. Known to some others as Relax bay instead, it is also an ideal location for families to take their kids too. The soft sands by the edge of the waters are great for walking and playing for kids. Adults who love to swim will also find good company in the blue, clear waters that make up this beach. Fortunately, there are resorts around that caters to families too, in case you would like to stay there with yours.

Klong Dao beach

Klong Dao sits at a unique place – just at the point where most tourists make their entry into Koh Lanta. It is, thus, a little surprise to see that it would be the busiest beach of them all. Besides the amazing sights offered here, this highly sandy beach is also a great place to mingle and make friends with other tourists. Of course, this iconic Koh Lanta beach sees more than a fair share of activity during the day so that you can get in on them too. However, we don’t recommend diving and snorkeling here due to the rocky ocean bottom. If you want to enjoy untouched nature and swim in crystal clear waters, better head over to Mu Koh Lanta National Park and explore the beaches around.
