Komodo National Park is a string of 80 mostly uninhabited, savannah-cloaked isles in the Flores Sea. The two largest islands of Komodo and Rinca, are home to the endemic Komodo dragon: the largest living lizard on earth and a ferocious, prehistoric predator. While on islands of Padar and Gili Lawa you can witness jaw-dropping viewpoints. Topography comprises smoking volcanoes, undulating hills, and jagged grassy peaks. Aside from the endemic Komodo dragons, these islands harbor a wealth of wildlife including monkeys, wild boar, Timor deer, water buffalo, and wild horses. The skies above Komodo are patrolled by a plethora of birds such as yellow-crested cockatoos, frigates, sea eagles, and sunbirds. These are islands lost in time, where centuries-old ancestral cultures can still be experienced today.
