NUSA ISLANDS • INDONESIA
Tiny Nusa Ceningan is the smallest of Bali’s three Nusa Islands, snuggled between the more popular Lembongan and Penida. It’s connected to Lembongan by a yellow suspension bridge, nicknamed “The Bridge of Love,” where views of the narrow strait between the islands is magnificent – especially when fully lit up after dusk. Both islands have similar natural and cultural features like coastal fishing villages and seaweed farms, but Ceningan’s charm is that it doesn’t have as many attractions as its more popular siblings. This means you’ll enjoy arcing seascapes, smattered with traditional fishing boats, mangrove forests, a bright blue lagoon with an amazing cliff-jumping spot, a secret beach and turtle nesting areas, virtually alone.
