You will love the laid-back atmosphere on Koh Lanta, its jungle-covered mountains, long empty beaches, and spectacular sunsets. There are plenty of choices for places to dine and things to do in Koh Lanta, and there’s accommodation for all budgets. Koh Lanta is a pretty large island (27 km long) so obtaining your transport makes it easy to wander around. The roads are paved (with several bumpy fixes further south). There is no congestion, and it’s hard to get lost when there’s only one road that goes around the island. Located on islands’ southern tip, Koh Lanta National Park is a scenic place with an exceptional beach, a lighting house that is also a viewpoint, and wild monkeys around! Another memorable place is Koh Lanta’s Old Town which is a village of stilted teak houses overlooking the sea. It’s peaceful and quiet here with a few small settlements. There are only several restaurants and shops so it won’t take long to explore, but it makes a good break from the beaches.
